Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial
The Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial Advisory Fund (PVVMAF) has launched a "Duty to Remember" Campaign in observance of the 20th anniversary observance of the Memorial. The campaign is designed to increase awareness about the Pennís Landing monument and to ensure its preservation by raising funds for its repair. The PVVMAF is the nonprofit board that works with the Fairmount Park System to provide oversight for the memorial. The eventual goal is to raise $2 million over the next few years, but the focus for the 2007 anniversary year will be on the $500,000 needed to refurbish the fading names of the 646 honored at the Memorial, repair paving material, weatherize granite panels, install a new lighting system and repair damage caused by skateboarders and others. You can learn more about the campaign, anniversary events or to see how you can help by visiting or calling 215-576-1216.
